“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”       – Philippians 4:13

I have been playing football for 9 years now.  In high school I played linebacker and wasn’t thinking of a future in the sport until I met my JC coach.  He switched up my position from linebacker to defensive end.  I didn’t agree with the decision at first, but there wasn’t much I can do.

As time went on I realized that my couch had seen potential in me, not as a linebacker but as a defensive lineman.  This opened up my eyes and inspired me that there was a chance for future opportunities.  Eventually, I committed to playing football for the U of O.

I got here to the University and got my first playing time as a 2nd string defensive lineman in our first game at Autzen.  At the end of the season, I recorded 18 total tackles and 6 tackles for losses.  The next season was coming and I had to prove that I deserved the starting spot.  I wasn’t going to be easy because the other athlete behind me was extremely talented.

One of the many obstacles I faced was fighting for this spot.  This sport is so competitive and you have to bust your back harder than anyone else to claim what’s yours.
